Santi Roca Fabrega is a Researcher and Research Engineer at the Division of Astrophysics, Lund University, Sweden. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics (2014) from the University of Barcelona, with prior postdoctoral roles at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and IAUNAM-Ensenada. His research focuses on numerical simulations of galaxy formation, galactic dynamics, and Milky Way structure. He coordinates major projects like AGORA-CosmoRun and leads WP6 of ARRAKIHS. He has advised five PhD students and contributes to education via graduate courses in Spain.
Education:
- BSc Physics, Universitat de Barcelona (2009)
- MSc Astrophysics, Universitat de Barcelona (2010)
- PhD Astrophysics, Universitat de Barcelona (2014)
- MSc High-School Education, UNED (2017)
Research Interests: Galaxy formation and evolution, cosmological simulations, numerical modeling of galactic structures (bars/spiral arms), and kinematic analysis of the Milky Way and Large Magellanic Cloud.
Recent Work: Publications (2023-2024) emphasize galactic dynamics, AGORA simulations, and stellar kinematics. Key contributions include analyzing tidal streams in the Dark Energy Survey and interpreting LMC-like disc simulations (KRATOS project).
Projects: Leads AGORA-CosmoRun, coordinates Gaia-Cost WP1c, and collaborates with eSSENCE: The e-Science Collaboration.
