معرفی
Dr. Sankha Bhowmick is Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. His research integrates bioengineering with thermal sciences, focusing on nanofibrous scaffolds for tissue regeneration applications. Current projects include bioactive bandage development for wound healing and cell preservation techniques for long-term biological storage.
Dr. Bhowmick's laboratory employs electrospinning techniques to fabricate functionalized polymeric scaffolds that mimic native extracellular matrices. His work has applications in regenerative medicine, particularly for skin, bone, and vascular tissue engineering. Recent publications demonstrate innovations in plant metabolite production and anatomical preservation techniques.
Prior to his academic appointment, Dr. Bhowmick conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School developing mammalian cell preservation methodologies. He maintains active collaborations with medical institutions including Rhode Island Hospital on sub-cellular targeting research.
