Sanjeev Tankha

Sanjeev Tankha is a Lecturer at the University of Southern California’s School of Architecture, specializing in advanced building technology design and construction with a focus on facades and specialty structures. With over 28 years of professional experience, he has led facade design for major aviation, sports, commercial, and civic projects globally. He is a recognized expert in high-transparency facade systems and cable/membrane structures. Tankha is a licensed architect in California and a Partner at STARQ inc., a multidisciplinary architecture and building technology studio.

His research emphasizes facade industry best practices, procurement strategies, and embodied carbon studies. He develops and teaches courses on high-performance facades at USC, focusing on glazed curtainwalls, rainscreen systems, and building physics. Tankha holds a Master of Building Science from USC and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, India. He actively contributes to the field through lectures at international conferences and serves on the Façade Tectonics Institute’s Strategic Advisory Committee.
