Sanjay Chandrasekaran

Sanjay Chandrasekaran, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in hematology and oncology with a focus on melanoma, advanced skin cancer, and sarcomas. He joined the faculty in 2021 as part of the Division of Hematology and Oncology.

Education: B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania; M.D. from the University of Washington School of Medicine. Completed residency/fellowship training via Emory University's physician-scientist pathway, including internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology at Winship Cancer Institute.

Research interests emphasize clinical and translational oncology, particularly in rare cancers. Awards include the 2020 ECOG-ACRIN Paul Carbone Fellowship Award and Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award.

Professional roles: Grant reviewer for When Everyone Survives Leukemia Research Foundation, and member of ASCO and AMA. Active in academic publishing and presentations.
