Barbara Ting-Wen Ma, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She specializes in the treatment of skin cancers, including melanoma, and leads the Phase I unit and Cellular Therapy for Solid Tumors program at Cornell.
- Education: B.S. and M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, MD from New York Medical College
- Training: Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine
Her research focuses on optimizing immunotherapy treatments for solid tumors, with particular emphasis on understanding and managing immunotherapy toxicities. She has contributed to studies on HPV vaccines, DNA immunotherapy, and immune checkpoint inhibitors.
Dr. Ma has received the 2021 Conquer Cancer Foundation ASCO Young Investigator Award and serves as a co-investigator in NIH-funded research projects. She is fluent in English and Cantonese Chinese.
