Sandrine Huber serves as Professor of Archaeology and Art History of the Classical Worlds specializing in Greek Archaeology at the University of Lille. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities, Department of Art History and Archaeology, and holds the position of Director of the UMR 8164 – HALMA research unit (History, Archaeology, Literature of the Ancient Worlds), a joint research entity of the University of Lille, CNRS, and MC.
Her research expertise encompasses:
- Archaeology of the ancient Greek world
- Archaeology of cults and sanctuaries
- Poleogenesis (study of city formation)
- Ancient sacrificial practices
- Ancient Mediterranean civilizations
Professor Huber holds significant academic leadership positions:
- President of the French Society of Classical Archaeology (SFAC) for 2021-2022
- Vice-President of the French Society of Classical Archaeology (SFAC) for 2019-2020
