Professor Sandrine Heutz serves as Partner Lead at Imperial College London and Director of the MSc in Advanced Materials, leading cutting-edge research in functional molecular materials. Her work bridges fundamental science with industrial applications through major collaborative projects.
Her research centers on the growth and characterization of molecular thin films and nanostructures for optoelectronic and spintronics applications, with particular emphasis on molecule-surface interactions. This includes industrial partnerships like the £2.5M BP-ICAM project addressing carbonaceous deposits in energy systems.
Professor Heutz has received significant recognition including:
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2018)
She commands substantial research funding through leadership of the £2M EPSRC SPIN-Lab facility (EP/P030548/1) and the BP-ICAM project, demonstrating strong grant acquisition capabilities. Her supervision extends to MSc program leadership and research team direction.
She heads the SPIN-Lab research group, which provides specialized characterization capabilities for spin-related phenomena, serving as a critical resource for advanced materials research at Imperial College London and beyond.
