Sandrine Gukelberger is a Researcher at the Institute for Sociocultural Development, affiliated with the Lucerne School of Social Work at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. She holds a Dr. phil. from Bielefeld University and has held various academic positions, including Project Lead (PI) and research roles across institutions in Germany, Switzerland, and internationally.

Her research focuses on urban politics, transnational youth movements, qualitative methodologies (e.g., ethnography, performative videography), and institutional practices related to diversity. She has led projects on protest movements in Bangladesh, Senegal, and South Africa, and explores bureaucratic practices in German administrative systems.
