Sandra Wilkinson

Sandra Wilkinson is a Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton’s Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing. She is a qualified social worker, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and member of Social Work England and the National Education Union.

Her research focuses on Forensic Mental Health and Practitioner Well-being and Self-Care. She teaches modules such as Psychology for Social Workers and Human Growth & Development across the lifespan, while also serving as a Placement Tutor and Personal Tutor for social work students. Her work emphasizes regulatory compliance in practice placements and collaborative partnerships with statutory and voluntary organizations.

She has extensive industry experience as a Forensic Social Worker, Approved Mental Health Professional, and Supported Lodgings Coordinator, with expertise in risk management, mental health law (Mental Health Act 1983/2007, Mental Capacity Act 2005), and community recovery initiatives. She is currently pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Advanced Practice and Research (Social Work and Social Care).
