Sandra Loerakker

Dr. Sandra Loerakker is Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, specializing in soft tissue biomechanics and mechanobiology. She leads research on computational modeling of cardiovascular tissue growth and remodeling for regenerative medicine applications.

Her research integrates:

• Computational modeling of soft tissue mechanobiology
• Heart valve and cardiovascular tissue engineering
• Multiscale analysis of growth and remodeling processes
• Experimental validation of computational predictions

Research outputs focus on tissue-engineered heart valve optimization, vascular smooth muscle responses to mechanical stimuli, and renal epithelial polarization mechanics.
