Sandra Echeverria is an Associate Professor (tenured) in Public Health Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her research focuses on social inequities in cardiovascular health, particularly among Latinx communities, examining how built environments, immigrant status, and socioeconomic factors influence health behaviors like physical activity and diabetes risk. She employs epidemiological methods including complex probability samples and cohort studies, often collaborating with community partners to address health disparities.
Education: Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health; M.P.H. in Sociomedical Sciences; B.A. in Latin American Studies from Rutgers University.
