Sandra Dwyer is a Lecturer in the Discipline of Business Information Systems at the University of Sydney, her alma mater. She holds a Bachelor of Economics (University of Sydney), a Master's in Business and Technology (UNSW), and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (Higher Education). With over 20 years of industry experience in multinational organizations, her roles spanned finance, global real estate, and project management. Transitioning to academia, she has taught for 30 years, including at UNSW and Charles Darwin University, before joining the University of Sydney 9 years ago.
Her teaching focuses on business information systems, particularly accounting information systems, and she emphasizes constructivist principles, blending learning approaches to foster deep engagement. She coordinates SAP programs for the Business School and leads research on Object-Based Learning (OBL) and Nudge Theory in education. Sandra holds key roles including Nominated Academic for Academic Integrity (6 years) and member of the Student Appeals Board (5 years).
Her industry expertise includes multinational enterprise systems implementation and infrastructure project management. Awards include Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (Advanced HE).
