Sandra Daack-Hirsch is a Professor at the University of Iowa College of Nursing, joining the faculty in 2007. She holds a PhD, MSN, and BSN from the University of Iowa, with a focus on public health and genetics during her doctoral studies.

Her research centers on patient-centered perspectives in genetics and genomics, including cultural explanations for inherited conditions, incidental findings in genomic testing, and familial risk communication. Current work involves developing ethical family communication tools for inherited cardiovascular diseases.
She has received national recognition for her contributions to genetics education in nursing and was honored with the James N. Murray Teaching Award and the Michael J. Brody Award for Faculty Excellence. She has mentored six PhD and one DNP student to graduation and chairs four active PhD students.
