Sandra Colavecchia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at McMaster University. Her academic work focuses on the sociology of families, social inequality, and intersections with law and policy.
- Education: PhD, MA, BA in Sociology from the University of Toronto.
Her research examines family dynamics, social institutions, and the impact of policy on intimate relationships. She has authored books and chapters on family sociology and contributed to interdisciplinary discussions on human rights through critical reviews.
In teaching, she has led courses such as Sociology of Families, Canadian Society: Social Problems, Social Policy, and the Law, and Social Media, Sex, and Inequality in Intimate Relationships, reflecting her expertise in social structures and inequality.
