Sandra Cheng

Dr. Sandra Cheng is Professor of Art History at Citytech, specializing in early modern visual culture. Her research examines representations of the body, monstrosity, and social hierarchies in Renaissance and Baroque art, with particular focus on caricature and the grotesque.

Her scholarly work explores:

• Evolution of caricature in Italian art
• Depictions of physical difference in early modern Europe
• Women photographers of the early 20th century
• Pedagogical approaches to art history education

Dr. Cheng teaches courses in art history, photography history, and film studies, and has developed interdisciplinary approaches to teaching medical humanities.
