معرفی
Sandra Borderie is a Lecturer and Postdoc in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Fribourg. Her primary affiliation is with the Faculty of Science and Medicine, where she contributes to research and teaching in structural geology and tectonics. She is also associated with the Interfacultary Environmental Sciences and Humanities Institute.
Her research focuses on structural analysis of fold-and-thrust belts, particularly in the Jura Mountains and Geneva Basin regions. Key interests include tectonic stress distribution, numerical and analogue modeling of deformation processes, and the application of sedimentary and geological proxies to environmental and paleoseismic studies. She has conducted fieldwork in Switzerland, France, Peru, and the Arabian Gulf, addressing questions related to basin evolution, fault mechanics, and tectono-sedimentary interactions.
Borderie’s work spans both regional and global tectonic contexts, with a strong emphasis on integrating field observations with experimental and computational methods. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges structural geology, geophysics, and environmental science.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the Department of Geosciences’ structural geology group and collaborates with the Environmental Sciences and Humanities Institute on interdisciplinary projects.
