Dr Sandra Alday is a Senior Lecturer in International Business and Deputy Head of Discipline (Education) at the University of Sydney Business School. Her research focuses on international trade networks, regional integration, risk analysis, and organizational diversity, with particular emphasis on Southeast Asia and landlocked economies. She holds a BA (Hons) from Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), an MBA from ESCP Europe, a PhD from the University of Sydney, and postgraduate qualifications in education and human resource management.
Her academic work bridges consulting expertise in international business development and organizational design. Key research areas include the impact of economic networks on regional risk, corporate governance gender diversity, and innovative teaching methodologies. She has received grants from the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre, UN-ITT LLDC, and DFAT's Investing in Women initiative.
Awarded an ALTC Citation for educational contributions, Alday teaches International Risk Management and global operations. She serves as Guest Editor for Journal of Risk Research, President of SRA ANZ, and on Standards Australia’s risk management committee. Her work frequently addresses geopolitical and economic challenges in Asia-Pacific, including climate adaptation and Belt and Road Initiative implications.
