Sanaz Kateb is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Management and Organization, School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She joined the university in September 2020 as a PhD ABRI researcher and transitioned to her current role in September 2024.
Her research focuses on
- the role of technology in healthcare systems, particularly elderly care
- impact of the COVID-19 crisis on social care organizations
- digital innovation adoption during crises
- temporality in collective action
- organizational spaces and vulnerability
- organizational control and professional autonomy
The trends in her recent articles highlight expertise in digital innovation in healthcare, crisis management, qualitative data analysis, and organizational behavior. Her work often intersects with vulnerable groups, process innovation, and case studies.
She received the AYA Recognition & Rewards Award 2024 in November 2024. Sanaz supervises thesis work of (pre-)Master students and teaches courses on 'Management & Organization' and 'Academic Skills'.
She actively participates in projects like Mechanisms of vulnerability and resilience (MOVUS), focusing on digital care and housing for older persons (2024–2026), and previously contributed to a project analyzing care for vulnerable groups during the pandemic (2020–2022).
