Samuel Shpall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Sydney. He holds a BA from New York University and a PhD from the University of Southern California. His research focuses on the philosophy of love, moral psychology, feminist philosophy, and the intersection of incarceration and education. He has collaborated with Corrective Services NSW on prison-based philosophy programs since 2022 and authored a monthly ABC column (Thinking in fragments) in 2022.

Research Interests: Dr. Shpall explores topics such as romantic love’s ethical implications, the moral psychology of gender, and the role of literature/film in philosophical inquiry.
