Talbot Brewer is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Virginia, specializing in ethics, moral psychology, and Aristotelian ethics. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University and has previously taught at Harvard as a visiting professor.

His research focuses on the intersections of ethical theory, human agency, and moral psychology. He critiques dominant views on the relationship between morality and voluntary choice, arguing for the moral responsibility of unchosen character traits and commitments.
