Samuel Lhuillery is a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Anglophone Studies (CAS), University of Toulouse – Jean Jaurès, where he conducts research and teaches in the field of Performing Arts. He earned his doctorate from the University of Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle with a thesis on Jerzy Grotowski and ritual theatre, supervised by Marco Consolini. His academic appointments include roles as a Higher Education Lecturer and ATER at Rennes 2 University, as well as doctoral teaching at Sorbonne Nouvelle.
His research interests span the history of 20th–21st century theatre, avant-garde movements, cultural transfers, performance studies, actor training, and theatrical anthropology. He is particularly known for his work on Grotowski’s philosophy and the ethical dimensions of academic research.
