Samuel Gido

Samuel Gido is Associate Professor in Polymer Science and Engineering at UMass Amherst, specializing in nanostructured polymer systems. His research designs functional materials through molecular architecture control and self-assembly processes.

Research develops novel elastomers from graft copolymers, ion-conductive membranes for energy applications, and biomedical polymers with controlled degradation. Current projects engineer nanocomposites through nanoparticle-directed block copolymer assembly.

Awards include NSF CAREER Award and Army Young Investigator recognition. Technology translation includes patents covering superelastic materials and acoustic devices.
