Daniel Hallinan Jr. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Florida A&M University-Florida State University's College of Engineering. His research focuses on polymers for advanced energy sustainability, particularly in solid-state batteries, membrane separations, and CO2 capture. He holds a Ph.D. from Drexel University (2009) and a B.S. and A.B. from Lafayette College (2001). His postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley (2012) furthered expertise in polymer electrolytes.
Dr. Hallinan leads the Polymers for Advanced Energy Sustainability (PAES) lab, advancing nanostructured polymers for energy storage and sustainability. His work includes developing solid electrolytes for lithium batteries and membrane technologies for water desalination. He has pioneered techniques like time-resolved 7Li MRI to study ion transport and employs advanced characterization methods (e.g., X-ray scattering, NMR).
