Samuel Emil Schmidt is a Professor at Aalborg University's Department of Health Science and Technology within The Faculty of Medicine. He specializes in smart diagnostics leveraging cardio acoustics and mechanics, focusing on technologies like Phonocardiography, Seismocardiography, and Cardiac CT. His research aims to advance point-of-care diagnostics through easy-to-use sensors and intelligent software.
Education: PhD (2007–2011) in Detection of Coronary Artery Disease with an Electronic Stethoscope; MSc in Biomedical Engineering & Informatics (2000–2005). External positions include Co-founder of Ausculto (2022–present), Chief Scientific Officer roles at HeartView Medical (2018–2021) and VentriJect (2018–present), and Co-founder of Acarix (2009–present).
