Samsara Soto is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Winthrop University’s College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Akron. Her professional journey includes a VA Medical Center internship and a postdoctoral residency at UNC Wilmington’s Counseling Center. Dr. Soto teaches courses such as General Psychology, Racial/Cultural Identity Development, and History of Psychology. Her research focuses on intersectionality, objectification, and systemic barriers faced by marginalized groups, with notable work on Latinx educational challenges and Middle Eastern migrant resilience.
