Samantha Urso

Samantha Urso is an Instructor of Classical Studies at Loyola University of New Orleans, affiliated with the Languages and Cultures Department under the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a B.A. in Classical Studies from Loyola University New Orleans (2014) and a M.A. in Classical Studies from the University of Oregon (2016).

• Current Foreign Language Department Chair and Latin teacher at a local high school
• Excavated in Cyprus at the Prastio-Mesorotsos Archaeological Expedition (2012–2013)

Her research focuses on Greek and Roman culture, mythology, religion, drama, and archaeology. She explores themes such as the concept of Pietas in Vergil’s Aeneid and Latin grammatical structures like the ablative case. She has taught Beginning Latin, Advanced Latin, Drama, and World History courses.
