Samantha Marie Harris is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on mental health inequalities, migration-related mental health challenges, and help-seeking behaviors across diverse populations. She holds a PhD from the University of Bergen and previously served as an Associate Professor (temporary) there before joining UiO in 2023.

Her research investigates how sociocultural factors influence mental health service utilization, particularly among refugees and migrants. Key areas include stigma reduction strategies, healthcare provider practices in cross-cultural contexts, and longitudinal studies on substance use. She has published extensively on topics such as refugee mental health diagnostics, pandemic-related psychological distress, and gendered help-seeking patterns.
