Samantha Keppler is the NBD Bancorp Assistant Professor of Technology and Operations at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Her research focuses on the intersection of private sector entities and public education systems, emphasizing educational supply chains, generative AI companies, and nonprofit educational services. She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University and an M.S.Ed. from City University of New York.
Her work explores how private companies influence educational effectiveness, equity, and efficiency. Notable collaborations include studies with DonorsChoose, yielding impactful publications in Management Science and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. Media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and NPR have featured her research.
Key awards include the 2023 Best Paper Award (MSOM Service SIG), 2022 Responsible Research Award (MSOM), and 2022 Applied Research Challenge Award (POMS). She has also presented at national education conferences, including the state superintendents conference.
