Samantha Beck

Samantha Beck is a Researcher at the UHI Inverness Institute for Biodiversity and Freshwater Conservation within the University of the Highlands and Islands. Her work focuses on fish biology, conservation genetics, and migration patterns of species like Atlantic salmon and Arctic charr. She holds a PhD from Hólar University (2019), MRes from Bangor University (2014), and BSc in Zoology and Conservation (2013).

Research interests include:

• Population genetics and evolutionary biology of freshwater fish
• Migration ecology and habitat fragmentation impacts
• Parasite-host interactions in Arctic charr morphs
