معرفی
Victoria Pritchard is a Doctor Senior Researcher at the Inverness Institute for Biodiversity and Freshwater Conservation, part of the University of the Highlands and Islands. She is affiliated with the Energy Innovation Team and Aquaculture Research Network. Her research focuses on salmon genetics, population genomics, and evolutionary biology, with a particular emphasis on understanding the genetic basis of life-history traits and conservation challenges in salmon populations.
Key research interests include the genetic impacts of fishing practices, local adaptation mechanisms, and the application of genomic tools for conservation and management. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to life below water (SDG 14) and sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11).
Dr. Pritchard has supervised 2 PhD students and has published extensively on topics such as allele frequency changes in salmon, hybridization dynamics, and the genomic architecture of adaptive traits. Her studies often involve collaboration with international teams and address both fundamental and applied questions in aquatic conservation biology.
