Sam Suggs is an Assistant Professor of Bass at James Madison University's School of Music, specializing in collaborative and creative bass performance. He holds a MM/DMA from Yale University and a degree in Music Theory/Cognition from Northwestern University. Suggs is a laureate of major competitions, including the International Society of Bassists and M-Prize, and has performed at venues like Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. His work spans classical, jazz, and fusion genres, with compositions featured in solo and ensemble performances. He also serves on the faculty of the Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival.
