Sam Pilkington is a Researcher at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, affiliated with the College of Health, Science and Society. They hold a BSc in Biochemistry (2017, University of Worcester) and a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (2024, UWE). Their role includes research internships, grant-funded projects, and collaborative research across disciplines such as radiography, biochemistry, and healthcare policy.
Sam’s research focuses on healthcare professional experiences, neurodivergent workplace inclusion in radiography, clinical conversation techniques, and expanding the scope of radiographer roles. Notable projects include a systematic review on physical activity advice for MSK patients, a study on autistic/neurodivergent radiographers’ experiences, and contributions to AI in healthcare initiatives.

Sam currently works at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust and has consulted on projects like physical health monitoring tools and radiologic service change implementations.
