Sam O'Hana

Sam O'Hana is an Adjunct Lecturer in the English Department at Hunter College, City University of New York (CUNY), and a Doctoral Candidate at the Graduate Center of CUNY where they serve as an Advising Fellow with the MS in Data Analysis & Visualization program. Their academic work focuses on creative lifespans through their dissertation research.

O'Hana's research interests span creative writing, contemporary poetry, literature, and public engagement, with a particular focus on establishing connections between academic writing programs and the broader public. Their work bridges traditional literary scholarship with innovative public programming approaches and data visualization techniques.

They founded Poet's Country, a literary enterprise that began as the Poet's Country Club poetry reading series and evolved into a biannual literary journal with plans for 100 issues spanning 50 years (2017-2067).
