Sam Donahue

Sam Donahue is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Harvard University's Department of Sociology, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on group boundaries, social identity, and systems of classification, employing quantitative and computational methods. His work explores mechanisms of inclusion/exclusion and the origins of group membership.

His research has been supported by the Russell Sage Foundation and published in top-tier journals including the American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, and Criminology.

Donahue holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University. His research clusters include Inequality, Political and Historical Sociology, and Race, Ethnicity, and Immigration studies.
