Salvatore Restifo is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Sociology at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His work focuses on social inequality, race/ethnic relations, immigration, and collective behavior, employing mixed-methods approaches to study historical and contemporary dynamics of stratification, labor markets, and state power.

- Bachelor’s in Sociology and History, Arizona State University
Research Interests: Dr. Restifo examines historical race/ethnic conflict, gender hierarchies in the economy, and the intersection of politics with institutional power and state repression. He emphasizes interdisciplinary analysis to address systemic inequities and social change.
Teaching: Courses include social stratification, race/ethnicity, advanced statistics, and sociological theory.
