Salome Rodeck is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) in Berlin and affiliated with the Institute for Cultural Theory and History at Humboldt University of Berlin. Her work bridges the humanities and life sciences, focusing on symbiosis as a biological and political concept in the Anthropocene. She is supervised by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Palm and Dr. Etienne Benson.

Her research examines transdisciplinary knowledge formations, particularly through the theories and practices of Lynn Margulis and Donna Haraway, aiming to historicize the integration of symbiosis into ecological and philosophical discourses post-1968. She has contributed to publications on topics like death rituals in multispecies systems and Anthropocene stratigraphy.
She has been funded by the Leibniz Centre for Literary and Cultural Research (ZfL) since 2020 and participated in workshops and colloquia on Margulis and planetary culture.
