Dr Salmin Mostafa is a Lecturer in the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University, where she serves as a topic coordinator for Accounting and Business subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also coordinates multiple undergraduate programs including Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, Bachelor of Banking and Finance, Bachelor of Business Economics, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Finance, and Bachelor of Finance and Business Economics.
Dr Mostafa holds a PhD in Accounting from Flinders University, along with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). Her academic journey reflects a strong foundation in accounting principles and advanced research capabilities.
Her research focuses on the complex relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and earnings management, with particular attention to how sustainability initiatives influence financial reporting quality. Dr Mostafa has conducted significant research on integrated reporting practices in Australia, examining factors that influence adoption and disclosure quality. Her recent work explores the evolution of e-commerce in business contexts, analyzing how digital transformation is reshaping contemporary organizations through technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, and blockchain. She is also actively engaged in educational research, investigating how peer-review of teaching impacts student performance and learning outcomes.
Dr Mostafa is passionate about teaching excellence and enhancing active learning experiences. She emphasizes addressing differentiated learning needs to maximize student outcomes in accounting and business education. Her teaching spans foundational courses like Accounting for Managers and Economics for Business to advanced topics including Auditing and Assurance and Taxation Law.
