Dr Sally Sims is a Senior Lecturer in Real Estate at Oxford Brookes University's School of the Built Environment. With a PhD in specialist valuation, she has been teaching since 2004 and played a key role in developing the Property Development & Planning curriculum from 2017-2021.
- Teaches Contract Law, Law of Tort (undergraduate), and Real Estate (postgraduate)
- Leads modules on Research Project and Planning & Development Professional Practice
Her research focuses on environmental features affecting residential property values, including high-voltage power lines, wind turbines, solar panels, and other locational attributes. Key themes include property depreciation patterns, renewable energy infrastructure impacts, and sustainable housing economics.
Recent publications analyze environmental stigma in the UK housing market, modeling windfarm and power line effects on property values, and sustainable housing refurbishment strategies in Poland. All work is grounded in empirical analysis and property market data.
