Dr Berna Keskin is a Lecturer in the School of Geography and Planning at the University of Sheffield, appointed in 2020. She serves as the academic lead for the career and employability team and teaches core modules including Economics for Spatial Planning, Real Estate Economics, and Commercial Real Estate Practice, bridging academic theory with professional practice in urban development.
Her educational foundation includes a BA-MSc in Urban and Regional Planning from Istanbul Technical University and a PhD in Housing Economics from the University of Sheffield, equipping her with expertise in quantitative housing market analysis.
Dr Keskin's research specializes in urban housing market structures, employing advanced econometric methods to dissect neighborhood segmentation within house price models. She rigorously evaluates modeling techniques to capture housing market dynamics, contributing to evidence-based urban policy frameworks through empirical spatial analysis.
Her externally funded projects demonstrate significant research impact:
