Sally Hinchliff is a Senior Lecturer in Modern Foreign Languages and Teacher Education at Sheffield Hallam University's Department of Teacher Education (College of Social Sciences and Arts). She holds a BA (Hons) and PGCE, and is currently completing an M.Ed. dissertation on the emotional dimensions of primary teaching.
Roles: Course Leader for PGCE Primary (5-11 & Early Years 3-7), Lead Link Tutor for Barnsley Teaching School Alliance (School Direct), and International Mobility Lead for Teacher Education. She also oversees international placements in the Netherlands, USA, and South Africa as BA2 International Specialism Coordinator.
Research Interests: Focuses on educator well-being, emotional demands in teaching, bilingual learning, and international comparative education. Her work explores pedagogical strategies in MFL through drama, behavior for learning, and inclusion.
Professional Activities: External Examiner at the University of Chichester, contributor to Lesson Study methodologies, and collaborator with international education partners like Georgia Southern University and the Calabash Trust. She designs modules on comparative education studies and supports trainees through assessed block placements.
