Sally Evans is a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the Wolfson Institute of Population Health and based at the Unit for Psychological Medicine within the Centre of Psychiatry and Mental Health. She holds HCPC registration and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), with full membership in the Division of Forensic Psychology. Her work spans over 13 years with HM Prison and Probation Service, where she managed therapeutic communities, led clinical initiatives, and specialized in offender behavior programs. She currently serves on HCPC Fitness to Practice panels and as a Stage 2 Assessor for BPS qualifications.
Her research focuses on the lived experiences of trans and gender-diverse prisoners, particularly within women’s prisons, and she is completing a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology on this topic. She teaches on the Forensic Psychology and Mental Health MSc program, integrating her clinical and academic expertise. Evans advocates for safeguarding and queer perspectives within prison systems, contributing to policy discussions through her publications and conference engagements.
