Saleema Waraich is an Associate Professor of Art History at Skidmore College. Her scholarship and teaching focus on South and West Asian art, particularly Mughal material culture and its modern political, social, and aesthetic implications. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles (2007), an M.A. in South Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (1997), and a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1994).

- Selected Courses: Survey of Asian Art, Islamic Art and Architecture, Decolonizing the Museum
Her publications analyze intersections of colonialism, gender, and material culture, including works on Mughal manuscripts, European prints, and contemporary Neo-Miniature art. She will be on sabbatical during the 2025-2026 academic year.
