Saizi Xiao

Saizi Xiao is an Associate Professor at the School of Economics, University of Nottingham Malaysia, where she joined in July 2022. Her research spans development economics, labor economics, and gender studies, with a focus on East Asia and Southeast Asia. Previously, she served as a Research Fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER).

Her research explores the intersection of labor markets, gender norms, financial well-being, and digital economy dynamics, often employing micro-econometric methods. Recent work analyzes climate anomalies in agriculture and multidimensional well-being in China.

Scientific awards include the GRAS Scholarship under the High Impact Research (HIR) Program by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education. Her publications appear in journals like Applied Economics, Feminist Economics, and China Economic Review.
