Dr. Saint Olga Cacciola is a Full Professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Catania, with over 30 years of experience in plant disease research. She holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of Bari and has conducted postdoctoral work at the University of Bern (Switzerland), Johns Hopkins University (USA), and SCRI (UK). Her research focuses on Phytophthora diagnostics, citrus diseases, and bioremediation strategies using fungi.

Publications highlight her expertise in oomycete taxonomy, fungal metabolomics, and rapid diagnostic technologies like LAMP and optical sensor arrays. She has coordinated major initiatives such as PRIMA BiOrangePack and PROMETEO, addressing cross-border agricultural challenges.
