Giorgio Gusella is a Researcher at the Department of Plant Pathology (University of Catania). His work focuses on the characterization of emerging fungal pathogens in citrus and other crops, including morphological, molecular, and phylogenetic analysis, as well as the development of innovative biological control strategies using agents like Bacillus and Trichoderma spp.

- Emerging fungal pathogens in citrus (Pleosporaceae, Glomerellaceae, Botryosphaeriaceae)
- Pathogen susceptibility and resistance to fungicides
- Evaluation of biological control agents and biostimulants
