Dr. Said Easa is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. His work focuses on Transportation Engineering, Automated Vehicle Planning, Road Safety, and Geometric Design. He holds a PhD from the University of California (1982), MEng from McMaster University (1976), and BSc from Cairo University (1972).
Research Interests: His expertise spans Intelligent Transportation Systems, Traffic Operations, and the human factors influencing transportation safety. Notably, he develops in-vehicle collision warning systems integrating driver characteristics and vehicle design.
Awards: Recipient of the IAAM Medal (2018), Frank M. Masters Award (2001), and multiple academic recognitions for contributions to transportation safety and education.
Labs: Director of the Road Safety Research Lab. Professional Activities: Associate Editor for journals including the Journal of Transportation Engineering (ASCE) and Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering.
