Sahra Abukar Ahmed is a PhD candidate and Research Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Her research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, porous materials, and organometallic chemistry, particularly the design of MOF-based single-atom catalysts for renewable applications. She employs advanced characterization techniques such as PXRD, NMR, TGA, FT-IR, SEM-EDX, XAS, and INS, collaborating with external beamline facilities.
Education:
- BSc in Chemistry (2018-2021), University of Oslo
- MSc in Organic Chemistry (2021-2023), University of Oslo
Research Interests: Sustainable catalytic systems, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and renewable energy applications. Her work integrates synthesis, characterization, and computational studies to advance catalyst design.
Teaching: She instructs courses including KJM1101 (General Chemistry), KJM1111 (Organic Chemistry I), and KJM2500 (Synthesis and Characterization).
Affiliations: Member of the Catalysis Section and the Catalysis and Organic Chemistry research group at the Department of Chemistry.
