Associate Professor Saeed Akhlaghpour holds a position at the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School, specializing in Information Systems, AI, and digital governance. He has academic experience at institutions including McGill University (PhD) and Middlesex University. His research focuses on cybersecurity, digital health, and AI governance, with notable work on data protection in healthcare and organizational responses to data breaches. He has received awards such as the UQ Cross-Disciplinary Research Award (2021) and contributes to journals like Information and Organization, Australasian Journal of Information Systems, and International Journal of Medical Informatics.
His research interests include data privacy, digital health transformation, and the adoption of AI technologies. He leads projects such as an ARC-funded study on Digital Hospital implementations and co-chairs the Digital Health Care track at ACIS. He advises PhD students on topics like AI in telehealth and privacy by design in software development.
Publications span topics from health data consent in AI to corporate giving impacts. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and teaches in programs like the MBA, Executive Education, and Master of Business Analytics.
