Sadie Wearing is an Associate Professor in Gender Theory, Culture, and Film at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Department of Gender Studies since 2004. She holds a PhD and MA from Queen Mary College, University of London, and previously worked at the University of East Anglia. Her research focuses on gendered analysis of film, literature, and popular culture, with emphases on aging, representation, feminist film theory, and cultural dynamics.

Her work explores aging subjectivities, dementia portrayal, and intersections of gender, sexuality, and national identity in media. Notable contributions include co-authoring Jill Craigie: Film and Feminism in Post-war Britain (forthcoming) and co-editing the Palgrave series Thinking Gender in Transnational Times.
Supervises PhD candidates Alanah Mortlock and Alia Amirali. Her research bridges feminist theory and cultural studies, addressing how media narratives reflect and contest societal norms. Collaborations include editing initiatives that amplify transnational gender scholarship.
