Hollie Price is a Lecturer in Film and Television Studies at Keele University’s School of Humanities. She holds a PhD in Film Studies from Queen Mary, University of London (2015), and has previously taught at Queen Mary, King’s College London, and the University of Sussex. Her research focuses on British film and media history, particularly feminist histories of social realism, collective filmmaking, and postwar stardom. Currently on AHRC-funded research leave (2024–2026), she leads 'The Four Corners Film Workshop,' exploring East London’s independent filmmaking scene (1975–1990). This project collaborates with the Four Corners Film and Photography Centre, culminating in exhibitions and film events.
Key publications include *Domestic Life and Modernity in British 1940s Cinema* (Manchester UP, 2021) and co-edited *Representations of Home* (Routledge, 2017). Her work examines animated propaganda films from WWII, the Ministry of Information’s Films Division, and feminist filmmaker Jill Craigie. She contributed to *Information at War* (forthcoming, 2022) and co-edited a special issue on women in 1930s–1950s British film. Price teaches modules like 'Modern European Film and Television,' 'Gender and the Cinematic Gaze,' and 'British Social Realism.'
Her supervisory interests span British film history, independent filmmaking, women’s media history, and themes like class, gender, and domesticity. She serves on the editorial board of *Frames Cinema Journal* and has collaborated on documentary projects like *Independent Miss Craigie* (2021).
